My Core Values

My business doesn’t begin and end with the swipe of your credit card. My mission is to amplify other small businesses and celebrate individuality, beauty, strength, and connection between all humans, not just the humans who spend money with me or the humans who take classes.

Two women wearing red lipstick, one leaning her head on the other's shoulder, both with red nail polish and rings, one in a brown fur coat and the other in a red top.

I believe in supporting other makers and small businesses in my community. I choose to spend my money with them, share their new product launches and sales when ever I can and have a once weekly maker feature in my newsletter. I will always be transparent about my business and rescources and share them freely with my maker community.

I care about our planet: the abundance of nature, of forests, oceans, beaches and lands that need taking care of. I care about sustainability, recycling, reusing and creating less waste and I believe my business practices should reflect this.

My Product Philosophy

I’m pro-local. I sell hand made jewelry, designed and made locally - not made oceans apart in factories or by folks not getting paid to live.

• It starts with me. Every piece of Samantha Slater Studio jewelry is designed and made in my small seattle studio.

• High standards for our partners. I work with two casters who are also on the west coast and whose business values are in alignment with mine.

• I prioritize shopping from and working with with BIPOC, women, and LGBTQIA businesses.

• I recycle and resuse all metals in my studio.

• I use lab created and ethically sourced gemstones. I know where my stones are mined, who mined them and how they are getting paid. I research mining processes and avoid working with companies who aren’t taking care of the environment or their employees.
